Princess was introduced in The Walking Dead issue 171. Who is she?

A new character called Princess was introduced in issue 171 of The Walking Dead comic book series. Who is she and what kind of impact will she have?

Ever since the cover for the September 2017 issue of The Walking Dead was revealed, comic book readers have been curious who this interesting new character wearing pink and sporting a huge gun might be.

There was speculation that it was Stephanie from the Ohio group, but that was not revealed to be true in issue 171 when Princess made her debut in the desolate streets of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

The big question is who this character is and what her character might mean for the franchise going forward. And while readers did get A LOT of talk from Princess, there is still a lot to speculate about her character.

First, she says her name is Juanita Sanchez. She goes by the name of Princess because she feels the word ‘queen’ would make her feel old. According to her story, she hasn’t seen another living human being in over a year and considering how she was acting, that isn’t hard to believe.

Princess is a very chatty character. Maybe it is initial nerves or just the shock of seeing another human being after so long, but she seems quite opinionated and as if he is a bit of a prankster as well.

In fact, her motormouth doesn’t seem to have her in very good graces with Michonne, who initially turned down her request to join the group. Her focus on ethnicities and minorities is a bit interesting, but likely centers on her feelings before the zombie apocalypse.

However, her inability to know when to joke and when not to might be a bit of a red flag. There are times when a little prank is fun, but joking around when you have a gun pointed at the back of your head probably isn’t a great idea.

Still, it appears as though Princess is legit. Once she retrieves her items from the building and rejoins the group, she will be among the people making their way to Ohio to meet the new people. Her presence during those meetings could be a very interesting development in this story considering the group now has a wild card among their ranks.
