The issue picks up on the rooftop where Siddiq had shared his relationship with Rosita at the end of last month’s installment. He continues speaking about how they are in love and she was going to leave Eugene for him had she not died at the hands of The Whisperers.

Eugene looks ready to explode but then settles down and thanks Siddiq for telling him. He says he knows how hard it must have been to keep that secret from everyone before joking and sharing a hug on the rooftop.

That morning, the group once again hit the streets. Yumiko suggests they stop to look for supplies, but Michonne lets them know they are on a timetable to meet up with this new group. Yumiko says they can do it on the way back, but Michonne instead wants to try something.

Screaming at the top of her lungs, she attempts to stir anything or anyone nearby. The place looked empty until a lone woman emerged from the buildings with a gun in her hands, greeting everyone by saying “‘Sup”.

Michonne asks this individual what she wants. Surprised, the woman says she heard screaming and came to check to whoever may have needed help. She says she hasn’t seen another living person in over a year.

After feeling each other out for a moment, talk finally becomes friendly. The woman introduces herself as Juanita Sanchez, but asks everyone to call her “Princess”. The group introduces themselves, then asks why she prefers to be called by that nickname. She says that the word “queen” would make her feel old, declaring herself the “Princess of Pittsburgh”.

Just then, some walkers approach the survivors. Without hesitation, Princess sprays into the horde, dropping them all to the ground. Michonne says they should get going before more walkers hear the noise and start to close in on them.

Princess asks if she can come with. Michonne quickly denies her request, stating that they don’t know her. In reply, Princess says they can get to know each other, and she might have some good information to share about the area with the group.

Finally, Eugene says they should bring her with because there is no harm in doing so. Michonne agrees and Yumiko saddles up on a horse with Magna, giving the free steed to Princess.

Before the head out, Princess asks if they can go back and grab a few of her things before they go. Michonne insists she hand over her weapon before they do, and they won’t hesitate to pull the trigger if they believe they are being brought into danger.

Princess begins talking about how wonderful it is that there is such a diversity among the group of survivors. She continues talking about how all that might not matter as much anymore since “alive” is the minority these days.

As the group approaches Princess’ place, Magna and Yumiko share that they don’t have a good feeling about this. Michonne looks as if she agrees. Getting off the horse, Princess yells up to a building that she has brought them horses.

In a panic, Michonne says that if she sees anyone that doesn’t have their hands in the air, that she will shoot Princess. Suddenly, Princess’ face goes from scared to huge laughter. She says there is nobody there and enters the building to get her things as issue 171 comes to an end.
