Fear the Walking Dead: Danay Garcia’s roadtrip with a very special driver
Fear the Walking Dead star Danay Garcia helped her son celebrate a major milestone this weekend as he hit the highway for the first time.
Danay Garcia knows a few things about highways. As Luciana on Fear the Walking Dead, Garcia is used to spending a great deal of time wandering around Texas highways. This time around Garcia is taking a spin with someone else in the driver’s seat, and it’s none other than her handsome son on his first long drive on a highway.
Danay Garcia is an incredible human being who somehow manages to juggle being an actress, writer, director and producer while running her own production company, This Is Happening. Her short film The Cure will appear on opening night at the Baja California International Film Festival in June. Of all her many accomplishments, however, it’s being a mom that sits at the top of the list.
Garcia’s son turned 17 a few months ago and over the weekend he took his mom for a spin in his first long trip on the highway. Judging by their smiles, it went very well:

Proud mama Garcia captured the moment, noting “First long drive in the freeway for this kid. His face is priceless. I’m just a proud mama. Never forget the magic.” She added several hashtags, including “this is 17.”

Luciana has been on quite a journey since showing up on Fear the Walking Dead in season 2. As Nick’s girlfriend, she had a place with the Clark family and when she lost Nick everything changed for her. Meeting Clayton, aka “Polar Bear”, in season 4 gave her precious insight into how to move forward in spite of her grief and in season 5 fans will see Luciana continue to bond with her new family while trying to help people who are struggling.
Fear the Walking Dead returns for season 5 on June 2 at 9pm on AMC.
