At the border, Aaron stands on one side while Gamma stands on the other. He pulls out some food and starts eating. Gamma notes that he eats bread every day, and he says it was baked fresh. She wonders why they make so much, and she thinks it is a lot of people just making bread. She spots a drawing in his backpack and Aaron tells her about Gracie. She’s curious that they have kids in Alexandria, but she says children hold them back. When he asks, she says she is an only child.

Carol goes into the cell, with Gabriel and Daryl watching closely. “Let’s get started,” she says. She uncovers a tray and asks what kind of jam he’d like. He wants some of all of it, and she says they have plenty of it. He watches with a forlorn expression as she talks about fish for lunch, and then he asks what she wants. She says she just wants to talk, but he doesn’t want to.

She offers him the bread and the Keeper has a very emotional experience with it, taking a small bite before cramming the whole thing into his mouth. She watches with sympathy, but then he spits it all in her face.

Siddiq checks on Rosita. She asks if he’s okay, and then she asks if she’s ok. He laughs, calling her “pasty” and says if not for Gabriel he’d make a move. She says he’s not the jealous type, so he gets into bed with her and holds her. She says she was thinking about Eugene (Siddiq laughs at “her other other man”) and she’s worried that she dissed him. He says Eugene bounces back. He has been looking at Eugene’s notes about Coco and is impressed by his notes on pooping.

They marvel that they have a kid together, and they’re both anxious about being parents. Rosita says Coco is lucky to have him, and so is she. A coughing fit interrupts their long look into each other’s eyes. He rubs his eyes and she asks if he’s ok. He brushes it off, saying it’s how many patients he has and how he can’t sleep until he sees them. He kisses her forehead.

Carol demands to know where the horde is and instead of answering, he tells her that he would have his way with her because she is such an animal. This doesn’t go over well at all with Carol, who dons her wedding ring and starts punching him while Daryl watches. When it’s done, the Keeper tells them that they’re all weak. Daryl pulls out his knife and says he’s going to cut off his fingers, ears and teeth, but the Keeper keeps talking, saying that they are fighting for sandwiches while the truth is staring them in the face. Alpha loves him. He says she sacrificed her daughter for them, and Carol perks up. “She killed Lydia?” she asks. He says she did, and that’s why he’s willing to die for his leader.
