Skybound to host a virtual fan convention in July
Skybound will host a virtual convention to help celebrate its 10th anniversary
The Skybound Xpo is coming this July to help kick off the company’s tenth anniversary. The two-day festival, July 18 and 19, will allow fans to virtually meet their favorite comic book and video game makers from across the divide.
Skybound Xpo will be live streamed from Skybound’s YouTube and Facebook page, making it accessible to just about everyone.
Dave Alpert, Skybound’s CEO and co-founder, noted that Skybound Xpo is a way for creators to get out into the world despite the many con cancellations due to COVID-19. “Like the rest of our community, we miss the comic-cons we go to every year. In this off year, we wanted to make sure we could still connect with fans in some way. We’re excited to share the awesome content from our new wave of creators as Skybound turns ten.”
Co-founder Robert Kirkman will host a Fire (Power) Side Chat where he will talk about all of his ventures, including his latest series Fire Power. There will be retrospective panels, trivia panels and lots more fun to be announced soon.
Skybound recently announced Negan Lives #1, a special one-shot comic book to follow the story of Negan after his last appearance in the comics. Out July 1, 100% of the profits will go back to comic book shops to help them get back on their feet as they start to reopen.
This news follows the announcement of the handful of SDCC at Home panels that will feature the company’s many talented creators and artists. Robert Kirkman is scheduled for two panels in addition to appearing on The Walking Dead and Fear the Walking Dead panels with the rest of the cast and crew.
Skybound Xpo has its own website where you can get more information as it becomes available.
