Spin-offs have become a major part of The Walking Dead Universe. They have given fans a great chance to see the development and experiences of other people and places in the apocalypse. Whilst it has also served us some fan favorites such as Fear The Walking Dead’s John Dorie (Garrett Dillahunt) that were and have become solid foundations of the apocalyptic World.

Crossovers have become a fascinating and cool factor that we have seen. Morgan Jones (Lennie James), Dwight (Austin Amelio) and Sherri (Christine Evangelista) have gone from Virginia to Texas, bringing their stories with them across multiple shows. This is something we may see happening more as new concepts are being released. This is something that is keeping the world we know fresh but with a nice familiarity to it.

There have been talks of new spin-offs to expand the TWDU. A Carol and Daryl spin-off is on the way in 2032, a digital submarine show that ties into Fear the Walking Dead, Tales of the Walking Dead, an anthology series about new and existing characters, and the three Walking Dead films. One character I feel could hold a pretty interesting series is Michonne (Danai Gurira), who is downright epic.

The Walking Dead, Michonne spin-off series?

Michonne first blessed our screens back in 213 “Beside the Dying Fire” when her hooded silhouette was seen slicing and dicing the undead, saving Andrea (Laurie Holden) from some walkers. Fans instantly knew she was going to be a badass and someone that, if you were in the apocalypse, you would want to fight with you by your side. Plus, she is super loyal; we have seen that on her new quest to find Rick, and she will never give up.

Does this mean we could see Michonne in her own spin-off at some point or in the Rick Grimes movies? We don’t know exactly where Michonne is at the moment. But, what we do know is that she is on a mission to see if Rick is still alive and if she can return home with him; ahh, true love!

If Michonne were to earn a spin-off series, we could see her journey pick up from 1013 “What We Become,” which was her last episode. In her last scene, she came across a mysterious couple who asked her for help and pointed out the fact that they are part of a larger community. We don’t quite yet know who they are, but they seem to be vagabonds. Could they have seen Rick and Jadis?

Michonne is a strong warrior who doesn’t back down easily. After all, she has fought through The Governor, Terminus, Negan, Jocelyn and The Whisperers.  Not to mention the countless other threats that have stood in her way. If she were to be the star of a spin-off, there would be no lack of action and katana-wielding. I think that if she were to find Rick with Jadis (Pollyanna McIntosh), Jadis wouldn’t be let off lightly for being part of the reason Rick was whisked away.

I think it’s fair to say many fans would love to see a reunion with Michonne, Rick, Judith and RJ. There hasn’t been a spin-off announced for Michonne, but this universe always throws surprises our way, so who knows what could happen!
