Michael Cudlitz and Jason Douglas will star in new action thriller Red Stone

Former Walking Dead actors have been very busy with new projects. Steven Yeun is making headlines with all his success, Laurie Holden has been cast in The Boys, Sarah Wayne Callies has a new scripted podcast, and so much more. Deadline announced the news about the action thriller Red Stone that will feature Walking Dead actors Michael Cudlitz and Jason Douglas.

Red Stone is an action thriller western, written and directed by Derek Presley. The film also stars Neal McDonough, Dash Melrose, Mike Dopud, Dominic Scott and Billy Blair. It is a modern western that is full of action and intrigue.

McDonough plays a hitman, Boon, who must hunt down a teen, Motley (Melrose), who has witnessed a murder at the hands of Cudlitz’s Southern crime lord Jed Haywood. Douglas plays Sheriff Quincy in the film. It is a game of cat and mouse as Boon hunts down Motley bringing them to a climactic showdown.

The Walking Dead’s Michael Cudlitz

Cudlitz portrayed the colorful character Abraham Ford in The Walking Dead. He was a fan favorite with his classic oneliners and willingness to put his safety above all others.

After leaving the series, Cudlitz’s feet have not hit the ground. He starred in the series Kids Are Alright and Clarice. He also voiced Red Rush/Josef in Robert Kirman’s animated series Invincible. In the film Five Women in the End as PJ Weller.

Next, he will star in Manifest West, a coming-of-age story about a family who has chosen to live off the grid. Follow Walking Dead Universe actress Annet Mahendru (Huck in World Beyond) also stars in this film.

Cudlitz will direct an episode in The Walking Dead’s final season.

The Walking Dead’s Jason Douglas

Douglas portrayed Tobin in The Walking Dead. He was a resident of Alexandria and worked on the construction crew. He was an efficient worker who was proficient with firearms but was a bit of a coward who would sacrifice someone else’s life to save his own.

Since he departed from the series, Douglas has starred in many series, including Dr. Stone, Fairy Tail, BEM, Black Clover and Cruel Summer. 

His upcoming projects include Whitetail, another thriller by Presley that stars Red Stone co-stars Billy Blair and Dash Melrose. He will also star in This Is War and Room 313. 

Red Stone will see a theatrical release in the winter of 2021. Don’t miss it!
