The Walking Dead season 11 Maggie and Negan alliance – new photos

No fan of The Walking Dead will ever forget the episode “Last Day on Earth.” This is the famous episode featuring Negan’s lineup in which Glenn and Abraham were bludgeoned with his weapon of choice, a barbed wire-wrapped bat named Lucille. One character that will never forget what occurred is Maggie, the wife of Glenn.
When it was announced that the series would see the return of Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and her son Hershel (Kien Michael Spiller) many fans were excited to see the return of one of the original characters. The big question was, how will she deal with the idea of Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) living in Alexandria and walking around gardening and whatever, instead of rotting in the jail cell?
The first interaction between these two characters was underwhelming as we all hoped for a huge blowup between them (or maybe that was just me!) Since season 10c featured character-centric episodes we have only seen Maggie in “Home Sweet Home” and briefly in “Here’s Negan,” there really hasn’t been anything else develop between them.

Newly released photos and clips in the teasers and trailer are slowly revealing more interaction between Maggie and Negan but it is still unknown how things get to this point.
This photo looks like a serious discussion is being had. This photo comes from “Out of Ashes,” which is the fifth episode of season 11. Negan looks fairly calm but Maggie, not so much!
There are many other photos featuring the two characters and in the trailer, we do see Maggie holding a gun on someone and she is addressing Negan. Another clip shows Negan handing a gun to Maggie. Is this all trickery to throw us off what is really going on? Most likely, but I can’t stop my brain from trying to piece it all together!
It is so hard to comprehend these two forming any type of alliance. Showrunner Angela Kang has stated in interviews that these two characters do have interactions and they are dynamic. Things are bleak at Alexandria and perhaps Maggie has to set aside her feelings for the great good of the community.

Oh, I can’t wait to see what happens when The Walking Dead returns to AMC on August 22 and AMC+ on August 15.
