The Walking Dead: Was Elijah captured by the Reapers?

In the season 10 episode of The Walking Dead, “A Certain Doom,” we met a masked stranger who aided Aaron (Ross Marquand) and Alden (Callan McAuliffe). It was a mystery who this person was. When we next saw him, he was with Maggie (Lauren Cohan) when she arrived to save Father Gabriel (Seth Gilliam) in the nick of time. This character was introduced to us as Elijah (Okea Eme-Akwari) who was part of Maggie’s new group.

The mask Elijah wears gives a menacing look to this person who seems very skilled at fighting. When he removes his mask at Kelly’s (Angel Theory) request, we see a frightened young man. We don’t know a lot about him yet, but we know the Reapers killed his sister, and his mask looks very much like those the Reapers wear.

But, this young man is too young to have served in the war with Pope and his squad. So, did Elijah belong to this group? Or did he decide to wear a similar mask, or perhaps he had worn the mask before he knew about them? Whatever the case, we haven’t seen him since the night in the forest.

escape. Elijah was roped in the same manner and snatched back. That is the last we have seen of him. Was he captured? Is he part of the reason the Reapers are hunting Maggie?

After learning more about Pope and his squad, it seems like Elijah is much too young, but perhaps they took him in as a recruit? But, what about his sister? Maybe she was part of the squad and brought her younger brother along?

So many questions with only five more episodes to go in Part 1 of season 11.

I think we can all agree there is MUCH more to the story than Maggie has told. She is determined to get back to Meridian no matter what it costs or whose lives it endangers.

If the Reaper did capture Elijah, could they use him as bait to get Maggie?

Hopefully, Elijah is ok as Maggie’s crew has dwindled to only Elijah and a very injured Frost.
