Kevin Carroll, who plays Virgil on The Walking Dead, returned to the series in season 11; his character was first introduced in season 10. Deadline has announced that Carroll has been added to the cast of  Chinonye Chukwu’s movie, Till.

After Michonne left him on Bloodsworth Island, Virgil made his way back to Oceanside to help them. He found the community deserted and headed on his way. He discovered an exhausted and most likely dehydrated Connie (Lauren Ridloff) who had been trapped in the cave and lost sight of Magna (Nadia Hilker), who was also trapped. Connie’s family thought she most likely perished, but her sister Kelly (Angel Theory) didn’t give up hope of finding her.

Virgil is now at Alexandria with the group, although he was severely wounded in the haunted house by the ferals. Only time will tell if he will succumb to his injuries.

Kevin Carroll cast in Till

MGM’s Orion Pictures film Till has cast Kevin Carroll for a role. Carroll joins a star-studded cast including Danielle Deadwyler, Whoopi Goldberg, Jalyn Hall, Frankie Faison, Jayme Lawson, Tosin Cole, Sean Patrick Thomas, John Douglas Thompson and Roger Guenveur Smith.

The film is directed by Chinonye Chukwu and based on the award-winning documentary by Keith Beachamp, The Untold Story of Emmett Louis Till.

Emmett Louis Till (Hall) was a 14 yr old African-American boy who was tortured and killed in Mississippi in 1955 for offending a white family. This film tells the story of his mother Mamie Till-Mobley (Deadwyler), and her decision not to let his death be in vain. She had an open casket at his funeral for all to witness the injuries his killers inflicted upon him. Photo’s taken at the funeral by David Jackson were printed in Jet magazine so all could see the horrors of his murder.

Congrats to Kevin Carroll for being cast in this movie; that is sure to be a fantastic heartwrenching story.
