Walking Dead: Noah played by Abbott Elementary’s Tyler James Williams
By Renee Hansen
Actor Tyler James Williams played Noah on The Walking Dead series during season five. Noah was a helpful and courteous person who had great promise but received a gruesome death because of the selfishness of another. Since departing the series, Williams has been very busy with other roles, including that of Gregory Eddie on Abbott Elementary.
Noah met Beth Greene (Emily Kinney) when she was kidnapped and taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, where he worked as Dawn Lerner’s (Christine Woods) personal assistant. Noah and Beth were both held at the hospital, where they were required to work off the debt they owed for being cared for at the facility.
At one point, Beth and Noah attempted to escape, which proved successful for Noah, but Beth was recaptured. Noah came across Daryl (Norman Reedus) and Carol (Melissa McBride), but when they went to rescue Beth, Carol was hit by a car and taken to the Grady as well. This led to a trade of prisoners which resulted in Beth’s shocking death.
After that, Noah stayed with Rick’s group as they helped him search for his family. Sadly, he found his family dead, and he then traveled to Alexandria with the group. Noah pulls his weight and does what he can to help by going on supply runs and eventually talks to Reg Monroe (Steven Coulter), the architect of Alexandria, about learning the trade. It was something he was very excited about.
In a horrific turn of events, Noah died because Nicholas (Michael Traynor) made a selfish move trapping Glenn (Steven Yeun) and Noah in a revolving door. This trapped Noah on the inside of the building with a horde of walkers who began to devour him while Glenn could only watch in horror.
It was a sad ending to a character who could have had a better life at Alexandria.
