Carol Peletier is one of the two remaining original characters from season one of The Walking Dead. Carol and Daryl, portrayed by Melissa McBridge and Norman Reedus, are the sole survivors from season one. Both characters have tragic pasts that molded them into the people they are today. They share a bond that can never be broken.

Carol started as a beat-down wife who suffered verbal and physical abuse from her husband Ed (Adam Minarovich). The moment she was able to take out years of frustration on his corpse with that pickaxe was the moment she started her transformation. Many years later, we see a strong, capable woman who will do whatever it takes to protect those she loves.

In the final season of the series, will we continue to see this remarkable woman fight? Or will the weight of the world cause her to crumble?

The Walking Dead Carol Peletier

In season 10, Carol was willing to sacrifice her life for all of the communities as she volunteered to take Lydia’s place to lead the Whisperers horde off of a cliff. This is just one example of how devoted Carol is to her friends and family. She is always the first one willing to do the hard things when others are hesitant.

In season 10c, she and Daryl are at odds, but this often happens with relationships, and the bond that these two share will allow things to right themselves with a little time.

In the first part of season 11, Carol has already proved that she is still on the path of doing the jobs that need to be done. She killed the horses to prevent the residents of Alexandria from starving.

Carol also tried to talk some sense into Aaron as he is headed down a very dark path. She knows firsthand how making certain decisions can affect your life.

In the trailer, for the second part of this season, Carol is working in the bakery at the Commonwealth, and everyone knows what happens when Carol bakes cookies. She seems to have acclimated to her role at the Commonwealth, but viewers remember how she did something similar upon her arrival at Alexandria. Carol’s outside doesn’t always match what is happening on the inside. She is excellent at playing a part to figure out what is really going on with any situation.

The hope is that the Commonwealth will be the answer to many problems at Alexandria, but from the first look at the community, it appears that everything isn’t as it seems.
