The third spin-off of The Walking Dead series is titled Tales of the Walking Dead and is scheduled for a summer 2022 release. With the flagship series coming to an end in 2022, it is great to see the fandom continue with several spin-off series.

Tales of the Walking Dead will be an episodic anthology series that takes place in The Walking Dead Universe.  The series will tell individual stories about new or existing characters from The Walking Dead series.

Channing Powell will serve as showrunner, and filming recently began in Buford, Georgia. Each episode will be a stand-alone story with Haifaa Al-Mansour, Deborah Kampmeier, Tara Nicole Weyr, each directing one episode. Michael Satrazemis will direct three episodes in season one.

Fans have made many suggestions of the characters they would love to see return in this series. Some suggestions include Tyreese and Sasha, the Prisoners, Shane, Ezekiel, Magna’s group, and Abe’s group.

If done right, this series could be something very special within the fandom.
