The premiere of the final episodes of season 11 of The Walking Dead is rapidly approaching, and fans have so much Walking Dead content to look forward to. With several spin-offs such as Isle of the Dead and Tales of The Walking Dead, this universe just keeps on giving. How lucky are we?!

Between all of the spin-offs, fans will be lucky enough to see some of their favorites return! Lauren Cohan and Jeffrey Dean Morgan will bring back Negan and Maggie in a set of adventures in New York City, while Samantha Morton will get an episode in Tales of TWD delving a little more into her back story. That will be creepy as hell! But of course, we cannot forget the mothership show and recent news of San Diego Comic Con 2022.

The Walking Dead will have a panel at SDCC again this year. However, it will be the final for the main series. Fans can expect to see cast and crew talk about 11C while fans in attendance will be treated by additional TWD experiences. But, with only eight episodes left, there is still so much still that fans want to know.

5 The Walking Dead questions for SDCC

5. What can we expect from 11c?

Usually, this question can somewhat annoy me because there is only so much the cast and crew can say. However, we all want to know what we can expect to see from these final eight episodes. I am sure there will be many twists and turns; however, it is certain that there will be so much more uncovered about the Commonwealth and where people’s loyalties lie.

Last we saw of the show; it was all getting very heated with antagonist Lance Hornsby (Josh Hamilton). He has taken over nearly every community in the name of the Commonwealth. He clearly adores the power and has no allegiances with anyone but himself. But alongside Lance, Pamela has found herself at the forefront of a very big internal headline scandal, while Aaron and Gabriel have found themselves in intense danger again and again.

Fans can expect action-packed battles, sadness through character deaths (I wish there weren’t, but it is TWD, and nothing can be predicted), and joy while watching more character arcs unravel. I feel we can expect to see a lot of scenes inside the walls of the Commonwealth especially. And hopefully, some of our favorites return to their special home in Alexandria and Hilltop.

4. Will any familiar faces return?

It has been known before within TWD for some characters to play a vital role and leave only to return. For example, Maggie, who has made a recent comeback, and the amazing Morgan Jones (Lennie James), now on Fear The Walking Dead, has returned to the main show twice in his time on the show. Once when Rick found him, and the second when he found Rick – what a duo!

A couple of options for this could be Heath (Corey Hawkins), a fellow resident of Alexandria who seemed to disappear unexplained. Or potentially, even some flashback or hallucination scenes featuring old but loved characters, such as the gorgeous moment shared between Hershel Greene (Scott Wilson) and Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) upon Rick’s departure in 905 “What Comes After” along with Shane Walsh (Jon Bernthal). There could be room for some familiar faces to pop back into the episodes; that would be incredibly emotional for sure.

Some other options for this could be badass Michonne (Danai Gurira), who could re-enter the show with her partner Rick Grimes after their departures in seasons 9 and 10. This would be super cool for fans to see as they mean so much to the whole story, and to have them come back at the end would be a great round-off to the entire journey. That would be awesome!

3. Any news about the Rick Grimes movies?

The question we all want the answers to. It has been a long time since we had any form of update on the three films promised to us. So, any news would be great!

Hopefully, they will begin production soon, should they still be happening. Maybe something will be announced or get mentioned about these movies at the panel; however, it’s definitely not guaranteed.

2. Will there be any new breeds of Walker?

Throughout the show’s evolution, several changes have occurred in the walkers featured. Season 1 saw them move faster and also have the ability to climb and crawl with strength; however as time goes on they have gotten more and more decomposed and slow as the population has found ways to survive them. Some have definitely been more grotesque than others along the way.

Maybe we will see some nods to early walkers such as the iconic Well Walker from 204 “Cherokee Rose” or Winslow from 710 “New Best Friends” who resided with the Scavengers. It would be frightening to see the Walkers retreat to their original ways and get faster. But, as we have learned from the show, it’s not the dead they need to fear but the threats from the living. There are going to be some sensational practical effects gracing our screens.

1. Will good prevail?

The guests attending the panel are all protagonists fighting for a better world. After they have overcome, they face every new difficult fight as a family. And that’s what makes the good prevail in the apocalyptic World they have found themselves in.

The Commonwealth and Lance Hornsby are really powerful and strategic antagonists who won’t go down without a brawl. The recent synopsis posted of 11C details that there could be rocky roads ahead for the survivors that could split them forever. It’ll be a tough battle to overthrow the evil in 11C, but I believe they certainly can together. Let’s all have faith!

We all cannot wait to find out what this panel holds and what lies in store next. SDCC will be bittersweet for fans to view as, after all, it is TWD content. However the last of its kind. I hope everyone watching enjoys and anyone going has an incredible time. It’s going to be one hell of a ride!
