Looking oh, so dapper, Fear the Walking Dead’s Colman Domingo took his time making his way to the guest seat during his Late Night with Stephen Colbert appearance. Colbert commented on his slow walk to the stage, and Domingo stated that the house band hit him with a slow jam, and he responded in kind.

Colbert started things off by congratulating Domingo on his first ever Emmy nomination for his role on Euphoria. They discussed Domingo’s celebration ritual of champagne and oysters, a ritual he began when he was 21. When he received the news of his Emmy nomination, he was filming The Color Purple and didn’t have many places to choose from to perform his celebratory ritual but did find a place to have his oysters and celebrate by himself.  Colbert almost moved Domingo to tears by presenting him with oysters and champagne during the episode to celebrate.

They discussed his role on Euphoria as Ali, the moral compass to Zendaya’s Rue. And he shared an impactful story of a viewer who, through the series, could come to terms with her mother’s battle with her addiction. Colbert asked Domingo who his Ali in his life was, and he said his mother was the one who was his moral compass who allowed him to find his own way but always asked him to think about what your doing and the impact.
