The Walking Dead series has had many villains over the past 12 years. Every villain had a different way of doing things, and one especially had an odd way of surviving. Alpha was the leader of the Whisperers, a group who wore the faces of dead people to live among the undead. Although this is a genius way to blend in, the smell alone would turn most people off. But, Alpha and her group relished the power and protection it gave them.

Her storyline was a fantastic addition to The Walking Dead, and viewers thought when Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) killed her and brought her head to Carol (Melissa McBride), that was the end of Alpha’s story.

But, now Alpha is featured in the third episode of the new spinoff Tales of the Walking Dead. The episode is titled “Dee” because this was her name before she took on the name Alpha. The episode airs on AMC on August 28 and is now available on AMC+. It is a fantastic episode that shows more backstory on the woman Alpha is and possibly always was. This episode digs deeper into the lengths a mother will go to for her child.

The Walking Dead – Alpha

Samantha Morton portrayed Alpha and will reprise the role for the Tales of TWD episode.  She does an outstanding job of bringing this villain from the comics to life. Her slow drawl, intelligence, and psychopathic tendencies made this one villain you didn’t want to encounter.

Before donning her skin mask on the series, Morton was known for her roles in Harlots, Rillington Place, The Last Panthers, Save the Cinema, and she voiced the character Ruby in the Max and Ruby animated series.

Next, she will star in the Starz mini-series The Serpent Queen, portraying Catherine de Medici in this period drama. This series which will release on Starz on September 11, is based on the book Catherine de Medici: Renaissance Queen of France by Leonie Frieda. She will star alongside Brendan Fraser in the dramedy movie The Whale and another drama titled She Said.

It is wonderful to have Samantha Morton as part of TWD Family as she is an outstanding actress and has been a vital part of the story. Don’t miss her in the next episode of Tales of the Walking Dead on August 28 on AMC.
