This week’s Walking Dead news (September 2, 2022)
By Renee Hansen
This week’s Walking Dead news is full of excitement, especially surrounding the most recent episode of Tales of the Walking Dead. The third episode, “Dee,” focused on new information surrounding the Whisperer’s leader Alpha, a role reprised by Samantha Morton for the spinoff series. Just when viewers thought they knew the whole story about Alpha and the creation of her group, there was more to the story.
It was a fantastic episode that revealed that Alpha was more twisted than we ever knew. We saw her willingness to go to extreme lengths to ensure Lydia’s (Scarlett Blum) safety. She put her lasting mark on newcomer Brooke (Lauren Glazier), and that Alpha wasn’t the person who started the Whisperers; a woman named Hera (Anne Beyer) was.
On Sunday, September 4, the next episode of Tales of TWD will air on AMC. This episode is titled “Amy/Dr. Everett” and stars Poppy Liu and Anthony Edwards, written by Ahmadu Garba and directed by Haifaa al-Mansour. Each episode has had its own tone and pace, and this one is no different. It is set in an area called the “dead sector” that has been given up to the undead, save for one, Dr. Everett. He is studying the homo mortus, a name he coined for the undead. Amy is with a group that believes the dead sector should be taken back by the living.
“Amy/Dr. Everett” is currently available on AMC+.
