The cast, crew, and showrunners of The Walking Dead series are beginning to show signs that the end is near. If you follow any of TWD cast, crew, etc., you will see posts of gratitude, fond memories, BTS photos and more, indicating everyone is becoming nostalgic as the series comes to an end.

Showrunner Angela Kang has recently started an amazing behind-the-scenes photo dump from previous seasons. She has a massive collection of candid photos with our favorites in character but nothing like we see them on screen. Be sure to head to her Instagram and see all of the unforgettable memories she has shared.

Filming for the series finale was complete in March 2022, but production continues as we speak. The finishing touches for the final episodes take quite some time, and the hope is the production team gave it their all to end this series on a high note.

When does the Walking Dead return?

AMC will premiere season 11, episode 17, “Lockdown,” on October 2 at 9 p.m. The synopsis tells us that things will pick up soon after the midseason finale episode with Daryl (Norman Reedus) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgon) heading to the Commonwealth. Lance Hornsby (Josh Hamilton) is still up to no good, as we have expected from the clips in the trailer. Governor Milton (Laila Robins) meets with backlash from the Commonwealth residents with the reveal of her son Sebastian’s (Teo Rapp-Olson) crimes. Meanwhile, Mercer (Michael James Shaw) and Rosita (Christian Serratos) will work together to fight off a horde of walkers.

AMC+ will premiere episodes 17 and 18 on October 2, with the remaining episodes airing one week early on the subscription service. Fans are pleading with AMC networks to hold off airing the series finale episode early on AMC+. There has been no announcement to this effect.
