Walking Dead actors featured in Netflix and Chills line up
By Renee Hansen
October is almost here, and Netflix is ready with its Netflix and Chills lineup for 2022. This time of year is the best time to release all the spooky scary new releases. This season several Walking Dead universe cast members will be featured in five of the new releases this October and November.
Netflix has three September releases included in this lineup. End of the Road starring Queen Latifah, Ludacris, and Beau Bridges, was released on September 9 and is a high-octane thriller. The suspenseful thriller, Lou, starring Allison Janney and Jurnee Smollett released on September 23 and is currently the number 1 movie on the streamer. On September 30, Phantom Pups will release, which is a movie geared toward kids.
Below is the complete lineup for the season, minus a couple that announced their release date recently.
Walking Dead actors – Netflix and Chills 2022
The first movie featuring a Walking Dead actor is Rob Zombie’s The Munsters reboot was released on September 27. This movie stars Daniel Roebuck, who starred in The Walking Dead web series Cold Storage. This movie is a reboot of the 1960s classic series about the Munster family. This movie will take fans back to when Lily and Herman meet.
On October 5, Mr. Harrington’s Phone will be released, starring TWD’s Thomas Francis Murphy. He portrayed Brion, one of Jadis’ (Pollyanna McIntosh) loyal companions. This movie is produced by Blumhouse Productions and Ryan Murphy and is based on a story by Stephen King featured in his 2020 four-novella collection If It Bleeds. The story follows a young man who forms a bond with Mr. Harrington, a wealthy recluse. When Harrington dies, the young man can communicate with his dead friend via phone. That might seem to spoil things, but Netflix assures us it doesn’t.
TWDU actors Andrew Lincoln (Rick Grimes on TWD) and Demetrius Grosse ( Josiah & Emile LaRoux on Fear TWD) will star in Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities in separate episodes. Lincoln will star in the first episode, “The Murmuring,” with Essie Davis, Hannah Galway, and Daniel Henkel. Grosse will star in the third episode, “Lot 36,” with Tim Blake Nelson, Elpidia Carrillo, and Sebastian Roché. Both of these episodes are based on original stories by del Toro.
Kim Dickens (Madison on Fear TWD) and Noah Emmerich (Dr. Jenner on TWD) star in The Good Nurse, releasing on October 26. The movie is based on The Good Nurse: A True Story of Medicine, Madness, and Murder, a novel by Charles Graeber. Also starring Eddie Redmayne and Jessica Chastain, this gritty crime drama is based on a true story of a nurse who murdered many of his patients.
On November 23, TWD fans will see Thora Burch (Mary/Gamma on TWD) and Jamie McShane (Lt. Moyers on Fear TWD) in Tim Burton’s Wednesday series. This series tells of The Addams family’s daughter, Wednesday (Jenna Ortega). This is her coming-of-age story during her time at Nevermore Academy.
That’s quite the lineup for TWDU actors featured in new Netflix movies and shows. Which one are you most excited about? Let us know in the comments below.
