Jeffrey Dean Morgan teases his next project, The Boys

Fans of Jeffrey Dean Morgan love him as Negan in The Walking Dead series, which sadly has concluded. Luckily, fans will see more of Negan’s story in the spinoff series The Walking Dead: Dead City, which will premiere in  April 2023. Since filming has wrapped for that project, you would think he would take a much-needed break. Not JDM, he has begun memorizing lines for the next project he is involved in, Prime Video’s The Boys. 

Earlier this year, the official announcement was finally made that Morgan has joined the cast of The Boys in an undisclosed recurring role. Fans from TWD, Supernatural and The Boys fandoms finally had their wish come true.

The showrunner and creator of The Boys, Eric Kripke, has long made it public that he was eager to have Mogan on board the project. Morgan’s hefty Walking Dead filming schedule and other projects made it difficult for the actor to commit, although he was very vocal about longing to be cast for the series.

This will reunite Kripke, the creator of Supernatural, with Morgan, who also starred in that series.. This reunion would also include an onscreen reunion of Morgan with his close friend and fellow Supernatural actor Jensen Ackles, who plays Soldier Boy in the series.

Morgan teased a photo (below) via Instagram, stating that he is ready and hopes fans are too. He is currently memorizing his lines while running the fence line at his Mischief Farms, located in upstate New York.

This role comes at an excellent time for Morgan as he has completed his time on The Walking Dead series, a role which the final season took two years to film. He has also wrapped filming for the first season of his spinoff series, The Walking Dead: Dead City. His character, Negan, teams up with the unlikely character Maggie (Lauren Cohan), who has despised him since he brutally killed her husband, Glenn (Steven Yeun).

There isn’t much information for the fourth season of The Boys, but production is underway. Two additional cast announcements for season 4 include Valorie Curry and Susan Heyward, who will play two new supes.
