The Walking Dead actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan is a man of many talents who doesn’t shy away from new roles. He recently wrapped filming on The Walking Dead: Dead City, a spinoff of the main series, and was cast for season 4 of Prime Video’s The Boys in an undisclosed role. The actor recently posted a photo on Instagram that makes fans excited to think he could join the cast of another Prime Video original series, Invincible.
The adult animated Invincible, like The Walking Dead, is based on a comic created by Robert Kirkman along with Cory Walker and Ryan Ottley. The story follows Mark Greyson, a 17-year-old who comes into his superpowers aided by his father and most powerful being on the planet, Omni-man.
Amazon recently released a teaser for season 2 of Invincible, announcing that the upcoming season will release in late 2023.
Has Jeffrey Dean Morgan been cast in Invincible season 2?
Morgan posted a photo of himself with parts 2 and 3 of the Invincible compendium stating that he is doing a little reading, tagging Robert Kirkman and Invincible HQ pages. This has led fans to believe he has been cast in a role for the upcoming seasons, as Invincible was renewed for seasons 2 and 3 simultaneously.
Fellow Walking Dead alum Steven Yeun (Glenn Rhee) portrays Mark Greyson/Invincible in the series with J.K. Simons as his dad, Omni-man, and Sandra Oh as his mother, Debbie. Season 1 also heard the voice talents of several other Walking Dead actors, including Chad Coleman as Martian Man, Lauren Cohan as War Woman, Michael Cudlitz as Red Rush, Lennie James will voice Darkwing, Sonequa Martin-Green as Green Ghost, and Ross Marquand will voice both Immortal and Aquarius.
