Did Norman Reedus reveal the new title of his Daryl Dixon spinoff?

Actor, photographer, and author Norman Reedus is well known for portraying Daryl Dixon in The Walking Dead series. Daryl is one of several characters from the main series whose storyline didn’t end when The Walking Dead concluded in November 2022. Reedus will reprise the role in a spinoff that centers around the character he has played since 2010. The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, as it has been reportedly titled, may now have a different name.

The new spinoff will be a drastic change for Daryl as he will awaken in France but have no idea how or why he is there. When he was last seen in the flagship series’ final episode, he was on his motorcycle riding off in search of what else is out there and to see if he can find out anything about Michonne (Danai Gurira) and Rick (Andrew Lincoln). He had long thought that his friend and brother Rick had been killed in a bridge explosion. In the final episode of the series, he learns that Rick is alive.

Reedus has shared his excitement for the new series in several interviews. On his Jimmy Kimmel Live appearance in October 2022, he gave the impression that he wants the title of his series to simply be Daryl Dixon.

In a recent photo the Reedus shared on Instagram, a new title has emerged. The boxes in the image are prosthetics for Daryl and a new yet-to-be-announced character Camille. The other interesting fact in the photos is the Raise the Dead title. This could be a working title, or perhaps, like The Walking Dead: Dead City, Daryl’s series is getting a new title.

Daryl Dixon spinoff series

Reedus has stated that fans should expect something quite different from The Walking Dead in his new series. He has described it as more of a reset rather than a continuation. With a unique tone, light, and sound, the idea is to set the spinoffs apart from the main series.

Daryl Dixon spinoff synopsis:

"In The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, Daryl (Reedus) washes ashore in France and struggles to piece together how he got there and why. The series tracks his journey across a broken but resilient France as he hopes to find a way back home. As he makes the journey, though, the connections he forms along the way complicate his ultimate plan."

The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, or Rise the Dead, has been announced for release in the second half of 2023. So far, the only casting announcements made are Clémence Poésy as Isabella and Adam Nagaitis as Quinn.
