Fear the Walking Dead season 8 reunion photo shared by Danay Garcia

Fear the Walking Dead will return to AMC on May 14, 2023, with part 1 of the eighth and final season.  Cast members of the series have recently shared what appear to be their goodbye social media posts to the series and the characters they portrayed. One photo shared by Danay Garcia, who plays Luciana, has fans excited about an upcoming reunion of characters.

In season 7, fan-favorite Madison Clark (Kim Dickens) returned to the series. She was thought to have died in a heroic act during season 4. But fans know that in The Walking Dead universe, no body, no death. And this was the case, long suspected by her fans, and Madison will return as a series regular for the final season of the series.

Garcia recently hosted an Instagram live session where she stated that season 8 will be the last because “it is time to end.” As with many long-running series, the end is inevitable, and for Fear TWD, the time has come.

The photo below, shared by Garcia, shows Garcia, Colman Domingo (Victor Strand), Dickens, and Rubén Blades (Daniel Salazar) in a reunion of these original cast members.

Fear the Walking Dead season 8

Part 1 of the final season of Fear the Walking Dead will pick up soon after the events of season 7, with part 2 experiencing a seven-year time jump that will bring this storyline current with the ending of The Walking Dead series. Fans believe this will help tie things into possible crossovers to some of the spinoff series.

Season 8 will significantly focus on the mysterious PADRE, which was once thought to be a haven.

"Rolling out in two parts, the eighth and final season of Fear the Walking Dead kicks off with the first six episodes following Morgan (Lennie James) and Madison’s (Kim Dickens) plans to rescue Mo (Zoey Merchant) from PADRE and seven years later — Morgan, Madison and the rest of the people they brought to the island are living under PADRE’s cynical rule.  With our characters demoralized and dejected, the task of reigniting everyone’s belief in a better world is the person Morgan and Madison set out to rescue in the first place — a now eight-year-old Mo."
