When is Fear the Walking Dead coming back in 2023?

The Walking Dead universe is gearing up for some fantastic new series in 2023, and Fear the Walking Dead will be returning for its upcoming season. The main series ended in November 2022, but the stories are far from over and will continue in the spinoffs. When does Fear the Walking Dead return in 2023?

Fear the Walking Dead is the first spinoff of The Walking Dead series set in the same world. The timelines of the two series have been out of sync due to the main series significant time jump in season 9. This will change with Fear TWDs eighth season as it will experience a seven-year time jump which will bring this story just about in line with where The Walking Dead concluded its story.

In January 2023, AMC announced that the eighth season of Fear TWD would also be its final. Fans of the series were disappointed but not shocked by the news.

Fear the Walking Dead season 8 release date

AMC will roll out the twelve-episode eighth and final season of Fear the Walking Dead in two parts. Part one will premiere on May 14, 2023, at 9 p.m. ET. It was initially reported that the episodes would air simultaneously on AMC and AMC+, but a recent email to AMC+ subscribers states that the first episode of season 8 will be available on the subscription service on May 11.

At WonderCon 2023, showrunner Ian Goldberg shared that fans can expect a look at life inside the mysterious PADRE location. PADRE was heavily teased throughout season 7, and now viewers will find out what this organization is about. The seven-year time jump will find all of our survivors living at PADRE under very different circumstances than the nuclear wasteland of Texas, but things aren’t any easier.

Fear the Walking Dead season 8, part 2 will release in the fall of 2023. This will be the final six episodes of the series.
