Walking Dead’s Josh Mikel & Keith Brooks BTS in Renfield movie

It is always fun for Walking Dead fans to see actors from the series in new projects. It makes the experience even more special when the film is from a story by Walking Dead comic creator Robert Kirkman. The Walking Dead’s Josh Mikel and Keith Brooks each had a small part to play in the Nicolas Cage/Nicholas Hoult lead Renfield that hit theaters on April 14.
The comedy horror film is directed by Chris McKay and with a screenplay written by Ryan Ridley. Robert Kirkman pitched the original story and produces with his Skybound Entertainment partner David Alpert and Skybound co-presidents Bryan Furst and Sean Furst, along with McKay.
Renfield is a story that follows the titular character who, for centuries, served as the servant to Count Dracula. He is a demanding master who has bestowed the power of strength on his lackey for his efforts. In modern-day New Orleans, Renfield meets a woman and falls in love. He finally finds the courage to stand up to his master and tries to break free from his life of servitude.
Renfield cast
Nicholas Hoult plays Renfield alongside Nicolas Cage’s Dracula. They are joined by an impressive list of talent, including Awkwafina, Ben Schwartz, Adrian Martinez, Shohreh Aghdashloo, Bess Rous, James Moses Black, Caroline Williams, Brandon Scott Jones, and Miles Doleac.
Josh Mikel portrayed Jared, and Keith Brooks played the claimer known as Dan in The Walking Dead. The play Phil and Dan, respectively, in Renfield. Mikel shared some behind-the-scenes photos of the pair, and it appears they will be victims of the Count.

Brooks stars in an episode of the new Netflix series Florida Man and has several upcoming projects. He will also star in Manhunt and Lilly, as well as Strays, A Man in Full, and Spookt.
