Walking Dead: Dead City premiere Tribeca Festival 2023, tickets available

Deadline reports that The Walking Dead: Dead City will make its premiere at the 2023 Tribeca Film Festival. The festival runs from June 7-18 in New York City and is organized by Tribeca Productions, which showcases a diverse selection of film, episodic, talks, music, games, art, and immersive programming. This year The Walking Dead universe will see its latest spinoff, Dead City, featured at the festival.

Dead City is a direct spinoff of The Walking Dead which sees the unlikely pairing of Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) as they embark on a mission to rescue Maggie’s son Hershel (Logan Kim).  The setting will be apocalyptic Manhattan, where they will encounter a walker horde one million strong and meet new allies and new enemies.

The festival will air the world premiere of The Walking Dead: Dead City that will be followed by a conversation with executive producers and cast members Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Lauren Cohan, cast members Gaius Charles and Zeljko Ivanek, along with the chief content officer of The Walking Dead Universe and executive producer Scott M. Gimple, and showrunner and executive producer Eli Jorné.

The premiere will take place at The OKX Theater at BMCC TPAC 199 Chambers St. New York. Fans can purchase tickets via Tribeca Films for $35.

The Walking Dead: Dead City

The series stars Cohan and Morgan in the reprisal of their roles as Maggie and Negan from the flagship series and introduces Gaius Charles as Mar Perlie Armstrong and Zeljko Ivanek as The Croat to TWDU. The series also stars Logan Kim, who has been cast as an older version of Hershel Rhee, played by Kien Michael Spiller in seasons 10 and 11 of the main series.

The Walking Dead: Dead City will premiere on AMC and AMC+ on June 18 at 9 p.m. ET.
