Norman Reedus NYT bestseller The Ravaged paperback releasing soon
By Renee Hansen
Actor, artist, photographer, and author Norman Reedus is a man who keeps himself very busy. He recently wrapped filming for the first season of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, took a quick family trip to Costa Rica and then began work for the latest Death Stranding game. And who knows what other projects he’s working on that haven’t been publicly shared. In 2022 Reedus released his first novel, The Ravaged, to high acclaim, and on May 9, 2023, the paperback edition will be available to purchase.
"“A wild, gritty, propulsive work of fiction…You’ll take the ride of your life with Reedus’s fierce and unforgettable characters.”–Adrian McKinty, #1 New York Times bestselling author of The Chain"
The Ravaged (Blackstone Publishing) is written by Norman Reedus and co-author Frank Bill, well known for his books The Savage and Donnybrook. Fans of Reedus anxiously awaited the actor’s debut novel, which quickly became a bestseller across the New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Wall Street Journal, and USA Today.
Reedus has described the story as “a story of hope and growing up” and follows three people on parallel journeys in a face-paced, raw story explored in a gritty, in-your-face manner. The book is very well written, and the reader can’t help but see parts of themselves in at least one of the characters.
The paperback release comes just shy of the original release date of May 10, 2022. Reedus then hosted a book tour promoting The Ravaged with several in-person and virtual events.
Norman Reedus – The Ravaged
Reedus’ original book deal was to write about his life, but being a humble guy, he wasn’t keen on that idea. That and he was sure he would be beaten up if told some of his stories to the world, eluding to the fact he has some juicy tidbits he could share.
He did have an idea for a work of fiction based on life events and people he encountered along the way. This became The Ravaged, and it has been quite a success. He has already begun working on a second novel that would tell more parallel stories and would like the audiobook to be read by several people, as a play would be.
He has been very complimentary of the people he worked with at Blackstone Publishing, who published his book, stating that they gave him creative freedom with the book design and cover. He also enjoyed working with Frank Bill, saying that he always enjoys good partnerships and what comes from them.
