Tales of the Walking Dead actress Parker Posey stars in Beau is Afraid

Actress Parker Posey has had many memorable roles during her career and joined The Walking Dead universe by starring in an episode of the spinoff series Tales of the Walking Dead. Posey is currently starring in the movie Beau is Afraid, released on April 14, 2023, in limited theaters in the US.
Beau is Afraid is written, directed, and co-produced by Ari Aster, known for Heredity and Midsommar. Described as a surrealist black tragicomedy horror film co-produced and distributed by A24 has met with generally favorable reviews.
The story follows the titular character, played by Joaquin Phoenix, a mild-mannered, paranoid man who confronts his fears while embarking on a surreal journey to get home to his mother.
The premiere for Beau is Afraid was held at the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema in Brooklyn, New York, with a Q&A moderated by Emma Stone on April 1, 2023. This was part of an April Fool’s joke as the attendees thought they were attending a director’s cut of Aster’s 2019 Midsommar.

Posey starred in one episode of Tales of the Walking Dead, the episodic anthology spinoff of The Walking Dead. Her episode also starred Jullian Bell in a Groundhog Day time warp of an episode “Blair/Gina.”
