The Walking Dead universe is seeing a significant expansion with the addition of several spinoffs. Based on the comic story created by Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore, and Charlie Adlard, the main series concluded in November 2022. One unique spinoff that debuted in the summer of 2022 was Tales of the Walking Dead.

This episodic anthology formatted series featured standalone stories for each episode. The first season, led by showrunner Channing Powell, featured six episodes and introduced many new characters. One unique thing about Tales of TWD is that viewers can enjoy these stories without seeing any other shows in The Walking Dead universe.

The only direct tie to The Walking Dead is that it is set in the same world and Samantha Morton’s character Alpha, whose story takes place in a time when she was known as Dee. There are some fun Easter eggs for the eagle-eyed viewers.
