Who is Fear the Walking Dead’s new actress Jayla Walton?

Season 8 of Fear the Walking Dead will be the last of the series. Fans of the series have been disappointed by the news, but the seven-year time jump brings the series in line with The Walking Dead timeline, which could lead to some crossover in the spinoffs. New characters will be introduced in the final season, and one of them will be Dove, played by Jayla Walton.

The seventh season of Fear the Walking Dead was met with a tepid response but going into the eighth and final season, showrunners Andrew Chambliss and Ian Goldberg have promised a reinvention of the series.

One element that will allow for a drastic change in the series is filming has been moved from Austin, Texas, to Savannah, Georgia. This will account for the departure from Texas at the end of season 7.

The synopsis for season 8 seems a bit bleak, as things with the mysterious PADRE didn’t go as planned. Fans are excited to see Madison (Kim Dickens) as she returned in the season 7 finale and was discovered working for PADRE.

Official synopsis via AMC Networks:

"When Morgan’s (Lennie James) and Madison’s (Kim Dickens) hopes to rescue Mo from PADRE did not go as planned. Now, Morgan, Madison and the others they brought to the island are living under PADRE’s cynical rule. With our characters demoralized and dejected, the task of reigniting belief in a better world rests with the person Morgan and Madison set out to rescue in the first place — Morgan’s daughter, Mo."

Fear the Walking Dead new cast member Jayla Walton

Actress and model Jayla Walton announced her involvement with Fear the Walking Dead on her social media accounts. Her character is named Dove, and viewers will see her in the season 8 premiere on May 14.

AMC has released a first look photo of Dove who will be introduced in season 8 episode 1 “Remember What They Took From You,” that will air on AMC+ on May 11 and AMC on May 14 at 9 p.m. ET. No other information has been revealed about the character but viewers will learn more soon.

Walton has previously had roles in Utopia and 1-800-Hot-Nite. In addition to her Fear the Walking Dead role, another upcoming part is in the movie Chasing Raine. She will play Ceaser’s Coach, a thriller written and directed by Quinanthony Bateman and Lee Bateman.
