The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon is a spinoff that will focus on Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus), a character made popular in The Walking Dead. Daryl’s story began in the main series in 2010 in the second episode of The Walking Dead and will now continue in a new adventure across the sea in France. AMC released a short “in production” clip giving fans the first official look at the series.

Daryl Dixon will see the titular character arrive on the shores of France with no memory of how he arrived there. His first act is to figure out how to make his way back home, but he will encounter new people who make this a difficult task.

According to Reedus, this new series is very different from the flagship series in tone, light, and sound and will be more of a reset than a continuation. TWD Chief Content Officer Scott M. Gimple describes Daryl as “a fish out of water” in the series, where he will have to acclimate to his surroundings.

Another exciting thing about the Daryl Dixon series is that viewers will likely see more of the variant walkers viewed in the after credits scene of the spinoff series The Walking Dead: World Beyond.

Daryl will encounter a whole new bunch of people in his over seas adventures. Little has been released about the new character’s but there is some information about two of them. French actress Clemence Posey will play Isabelle, a member of a progressive religious group. A man named Quinn will be played by Adam Nagaitis who is a black marketeer who has used the apocalypse to his advantage and also owns an underground night club.  Louis Peach Scigliuzzi plays  Laurent and is joined by Anne Charrier, Eriq Ebanouey, Laika Blanc-Fracard, Romain Levi, Avant Stangel, Gilbert Glenn Brown, Paul Deby and Faustine Surmont.

The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon is expected to release on AMC and AMC+ in the fall of 2023.
