Actress Lyndon Smith portrayed a woman named Ava Sanderson in the season 7 finale of Fear the Walking Dead. She is a woman who encountered Morgan (Lennie James) and Madison (Kim Dickens) and met with a sad end. Who was Ava?
The final episode of Season 7, “Gone,” marked the return of fan-favorite character Madison Clark. She was met by Morgan, who wasn’t introduced to the storyline until after her death. He quickly realized who she was by the tattoos of her children’s names, Nick (Frank Dillane) and Alicia (Alycia Debnam-Carey), on her wrists. In a shocking twist, Madison revealed she worked for PADRE as a collector of children.
PADRE had long been sought after as a haven. It was believed that the United States government set up this location with supplies and plans to rebuild after a catastrophe. What may have been a haven at one time was now an organization that stole children away from their parents to raise and train them for combat.
In the final episode of season 7, Morgan and Madison encounter Ava, a woman desperately seeking the child Madison abducted.
Fear the Walking Dead – Ava
Morgan and Mo are the first to come upon Ava while she is in a house trying to contact a man named Jim on the radio. He asks about food, but she has none, and he notices several positive pregnancy tests. She doesn’t want his help and tells him to get as far away as possible with his daughter as the area is no place for kids.
It will eventually be revealed that Ava is part of a group led by Wilt (Carl Palmer), who has been tracking Madison to recover their children abducted by PADRE. She tricks Morgan and Madison into believing she is pregnant to learn the location of PADRE so Wilt and the others can follow.
Madison surrenders to Wilt’s group, who bury her on the beach to die and head after PADRE with Ava in tow. The entire group is then seen reanimated after being killed by PADRE members. Morgan rescues Madison and then heads to PADRE to rescue Mo.
