AMC excited the fandom with the announcement that The Walking Dead: Dead City would get an early timeslot for its debut episode. Dead City will now premiere in the 9 p.m. ET timeslot, traditionally held by TWDU series, on June 18.

Dead City was initially set to premiere immediately following Fear the Walking Dead’s midseason 8 finale episode at 10 p.m. ET. AMC’s announcement was unclear on the time change for Fear TWD, but the midseason finale will likely follow Dead City’s premiere.

Only two weeks remain until fans will see the beginnings of Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Negan’s (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) new adventure in apocalyptic Manhattan. Dead City will begin approximately two years after The Walking Dead series finale story, which required Maggie’s son Hershel to be recast. Logan Kim of Ghostbusters: Afterlife will now fill this role.

AMC will air the fourth episode of Fear the Walking Dead on Sunday, June 4 at 9 p.m. ET titled “King County.” This episode is now available on AMC+. Morgan (Lennie James) will return to Georgia in this episode and will pull on the heartstrings of fans as he revisits the location where he first met Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) in the pilot episode of The Walking Dead.
