By Renee Hansen
The Walking Dead: Dead City premiered on June 18 on AMC and AMC+. This series follows the continuing stories of Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) as they travel to Manhattan to rescue Maggie’s son Hershel (Logan Kim). This season’s six episodes have gone by quickly, and it is time to view the season finale episode.
On July 23, at 9 p.m. ET AMC will air the season finale of Dead City titled “Doma Smo.” This episode was released on AMC+ on Thursday, July 20. This episode was written by showrunner Eli Jorné and directed by Gandja Monteiro, who also directed the previous episode, “Stories We Tell Ourselves.”
Last week it was revealed that Maggie’s plan had always been to trade Negan for Hershel. Ginny knew of Maggie’s lie and made her way to Manhattan to tell Negan. The episode concluded with Ginny shooting a flare to get Negan’s attention.
This week will see tensions between Maggie and Negan come to a head. The promo video for episode 6 sees Maggie and Negan come to blows.
The Walking Dead: Dead City season 2
With the announcement from SDCC that Dead City has been renewed for a second season, things could end on a significant cliffhanger.
There is still much to learn about the new communities introduced in this series and the fantastic new characters. Perlie Armstrong (Gaius Charles) is at a crossroads; if Maggie rescues Hershel, will they return to The Bricks? What’s to become of Negan if he is traded to The Croat (Željko Ivanek) and The Dama (Lisa Emery)? Will he revert to his old ways for good?
Don’t miss the exciting conclusion of The Walking Dead: Dead City season 1 on July 23 at 9 p.m. ET.
