By Renee Hansen
Fear the Walking Dead will return in October 2023 for the series’ final six episodes AMC announced the eighth season would be the last for this series in January 2023. Part 1 of this season focused on PADRE and said goodbye to long-time character Morgan Jones (Lennie James). The final installment of episodes will feature Madison Clark’s (Kim Dickens) reunion with several characters and see the return of Troy Otto (Daniel Sharman).
Introduced in season 3, Troy was a member of the Otto family in charge of the Broke Jaw Ranch. Troy, with his father Jeremiah Otto Sr. (Dayton Callie) and brother Jake (Sam Underwood), ran the community in which Madison and her family joined. Troy was a psychopath and suspicious of strangers joining their community, so he wasn’t pleased with the newcomers joining their ranks.

By the end of season 3, Troy would be found out as the one who led the horde of walkers to the ranch, leading to its fall. He would admit this to Madison, expressing no remorse for the lives lost, stating he would do it again if needed. He believed it was his to destroy as the ranch was his family’s creation.
This admission would enrage Madison, and she would bash his head twice with a hammer at Gonzalez Dam. His lifeless body was seen being washed away from the flood after the dam was blown up. It is hard to believe that anyone could have survived this blow to the head. Then if he survived that, to also survive the flooding from the dam while injured. But here we are.
