How to watch Tales of the Walking Dead spinoff of The Walking Dead
By Renee Hansen
AMC has created some fantastic spinoffs of The Walking Dead; by 2024, there will be at least seven spinoffs, and TWD Chief Content Officer Scott M. Gimple has stated more will be coming. Tales of the Walking Dead was the fourth spinoff, which featured standalone stories set in the same world as the main series. Where can you watch Tales of the Walking Dead?
Walking Dead veteran, Channing Powell served as showrunner for the series she co-created with Gimple. The first season contains six episodes that introduced new characters across different locations within the United States. Michael Satrazemis, who has directed in TWDU previously, directed three episodes with Ron Underwood, Haifaa al-Mansour, and Deborah Kampmeier directing one episode each.
Tales of the Walking Dead can be viewed with an AMC+ subscription, or viewers can purchase physical copies of the DVD or Blu-ray. The disc sets can be purchased on Amazon or wherever you buy physical copies.
Tales of the Walking Dead cast
This series added many talented actors to TWDU. Some of the great actors featured in this series include Oliva Munn, Jessie T. Usher, Danny Ramirez, Loan Chabanol, Embeth Davitz, Lauren Glazier, Daniella Pineda, Terry Crews, Anthony Edwards, Poppy Liu, Parker Posey, Julian Bell, Matt Medrano, Scarlett Blum and more.
Tales of the Walking Dead anthology series
Tales of the Walking Dead is created in an anthology format which allows viewers to watch episodes in any order. Someone new to the universe could watch these episodes without ever seeing another episode of the other series.
The third episode, “Dee,” gives an interesting backstory to Alpha (Samantha Morton) during a time when she is still known as Dee. Her daughter Lydia (Blum) is much younger, and this story reveals essential information about Alpha’s story.
Fans of the flagship series will be happy to see several Easter Eggs featured across the six episodes.
Another series has been announced, More Tales of the Walking Dead, but details have yet to be revealed. It is unclear if this is a second season of Tales of TWD or something altogether different. Fans have been hopeful to see stories featuring familiar characters, dead or alive, from The Walking Dead series.
