Fans of Fear the Walking Dead are both anticipating and dreading the series’ final six episodes that will premiere on AMC and AMC+ in October. The last episodes will see Madison (Kim Dickens) take back the lead role while Troy Otto (Daniel Sharman) returns. In an interview by Games Radar, Fear TWD director Michael E. Satrazemis shed some light on Madison’s daughter’s fate.

The interview of Satrazemis by Games Radar will be published in the October 4 issue of SFX magazine. There, he discusses the final season and what viewers can expect.

Some of this interview’s highlights have been shared, which include the mention of Madison not having the time to mourn the deaths of her children.

Viewers know that Nick (Frank Dillane) was shot & killed by Charlie (Alexa Nisenson) in season 4. This is a known fact.

But is Alicia (Alycia Debnam-Carey) dead?

When Morgan first encounters Madison in the final episode of season 7, he eventually tells her that her children are dead. At this point, Morgan assumes Alicia has succumbed to the fevers that plagued her since being bitten by a walker. He had been parted from the main group and wouldn’t know that she left the group to help others.

In the midseason finale, viewers see someone with Alica’s prosthetic arm, which would be revealed as Troy. Having her arm doesn’t confirm her death, as he could have taken it and left her alive.

BUT, Satrasemis states in the Games Radar interview, “There’s also the fact that Madison hasn’t really had enough time to process the death of her children. She’s just learned that they were dead, so some of her biggest struggles will be within.”

By this time she and Morgan would have had conversations with Grace, Dwight, Sherry, and June,  who could have confirmed that Alicia was still alive when she was last seen.

This is just speculation on my part, but it will be interesting to see if what he said is true.

Fans have hoped for a return of Alicia before the end, but perhaps that will only be in a flashback of her death.

Don’t miss the premiere of Fear the Walking Dead season 8, part 2 on AMC and AMC+ on October 22.
