Fear the Walking Dead season 8 part 2 non-spoiler review
By Renee Hansen
Fear the Walking Dead returns on October 22 for the second half of the final season. The series began airing in 2015, and by November 19, 2023, the story will see its conclusion. Throughout its run, the series has had its ups and downs, and fans are eager to see if the final six episodes will end satisfactorily.
The first two episodes were released for media reviews, and this writer was pleasantly surprised. Although reintroducing Troy Otto (Daniel Sharman), who was thought to have died in season 3, seemed absurd, it could be the element the series was missing. Sharman does the villain role justice.
The midseason premiere “Anton” shows Victor Strand (Colman Domingo), who now goes by Anton, for the first time in season 8. His life has drastically changed since he was last seen. He is also reunited with his old friend Madison Clark (Kim Dickens), but this meeting isn’t all sunshine and roses.
Madison is slowly reunited with many of her old friends who have thought her dead all these years. She also finally begins to process the deaths of her children and all she has gone through with PADRE. A shocking reveal in the second episode also significantly impacts Madison.
Fear the Walking Dead – final season
Daniel (Ruben Blades) is back in action, and it is good to see whatever he experienced in season 7 has had no lasting effects. Many familiar faces pop up in the first two episodes, and it will be interesting to see where the remaining episodes take their stories.
If the remaining four episodes can continue the pacing of the first two, Fear TWD can pull off an impressive final season.
Fear the Walking Dead airs new episodes weekly beginning Sunday, October 22, on AMC and AMC+.
