Madison Clark (Kim Dickens) returned to Fear the Walking Dead in the season 7 finale episode. Thought to have died in season 3 at the Dell Diamond Stadium fire, Madison’s return was a highlight for many fans of the series. In its final season, Fear the Walking Dead will see Madison come to terms with her children’s fates.

Madison is fiercely protective of those she cares about, especially her children. Her sacrifice in season 3 saved many lives, and it was thought she perished as the stadium was engulfed in flames. She managed to survive, but due to the smoke inhalation, she suffered some lung damage.

In season 7, Morgan Jones (Lennie James) meets a woman he easily identified due to the names tattooed on her wrists. Madison bore the names of her children Nick (Frank Dillane) and Alica (Alycia Debnam-Carey). This would lead to the difficult conversation of Morgan telling her both of her children were gone.

Fear the Walking Dead Nick Clark’s fate

In the season 4 episode “Good Out Here,” Nick is killed by Charlie (Alexa Nisenson), a young girl that Madison and Nick brought into their group but who would betray them. After the fall of the stadium, she witnessed Nick kill Ennis (Evan Gamble), a man who, along with his brother Mel (Kevin Zegers), raised her and was the closest thing she had to family.

Believing she needs to avenge Ennis’ death, Charlie shoots Nick in the chest. Initially, she is shocked and saddened by her actions but then runs away before the others arrive. Alicia, Strand (Colman Domingo), and Luciana (Danay Garcia) try to save him, but he succumbs to the gunshot wound.

Fear the Walking Dead Alicia Clark’s fate

In the season 7 episode “Amina,” Alicia Clark would remain behind while Morgan’s group fled Texas to find a safe place to live. After trying to save Strand, Alicia returns to the rafts carrying the survivors to a new location. She informs them she will remain behind to warn those who heard her radio call to come to the Tower that the location is no longer safe.

Earlier in the season, she was forced to amputate her arm due to a walker bite; since that time, she had experienced severe fevers and believed she would eventually change into a member of the undead. As the rafts begin to depart, Alicia passes out due to the fever. When she wakes, the rafts are gone, and she realizes she is alive and her fever has finally broken.

She vows to spend her remaining time helping others as she dons her gas mask and heads back to the Tower.

In the eighth and final season of Fear the Walking Dead, Troy Otto (Daniel Sharman) returns. In the midseason premiere, he informs Madison that he killed Alicia. He is in possession of her prosthetic arm she fashioned from the bones of her amputated arm as proof. But it isn’t clear if he really did kill her or is just taunting Madison. The remaining episodes will likely reveal the truth of Alicia’s fate before the conclusion of the series on November 19, 2023.

Fear the Walking Dead is back on AMC and AMC+ on Sundays, airing new episodes weekly.
