Walking Dead universe actors Steven Yeun, Colman Domingo, and Gus Halper attend the 33rd Gotham Awards at Cipriani Wall Street on November 27, 2023, in New York City. The star-studded event highlighted many talented actors and their accomplishments this year.
Yeun, who played Glenn Rhee on The Walking Dead, was nominated for Outstanding Performance in a New Series for his performance in the Netflix original comedy-drama Beef. Yeun portrayed Danny Cho, a contractor who experiences a road rage accident that alters his life.
Yeun’s co-star Ali Wong was also nominated and came out as the winner in this category. Her character, Amy Lau, is involved in Danny’s road rage incident, which also significantly impacts her life.
Beef won Breakthrough Series Short Form against Rain Dogs, Swarm, I’m a Virgo and High School.
The actors who starred in Fear the Walking Dead, Domingo and Halper, were in attendance in support of their new Netflix original series Rustin, which won the Film Tribute Award, awarded to director George C. Wolfe. Other films that also received tribute awards include Air, Barbie, Ferrari, Killers of the Flower Moon, and Maestro.
Domingo portrayed Victor Strand in Fear TWD for all eight seasons of the series. He stars as civic rights activist Bayard Rustin, his first lead role in a feature film in the Rustin biopic.
Halper portrayed Will in season 7 of Fear the Walking Dead, and in Rustin, he stars as Tom Kahn, a leader in the Civic Rights movement.
Walking Dead actor Josh Hamilton stars in two films featured at the Gotham Awards. Reality, a crime drama, was nominated for Best Feature Film against Past Lives, the winner, and Passages, Showing Up, and A Thousand and One. Hamilton portrays an FBI agent who questions Reality Winner, the movie’s focus.
Hamilton also stars in the Bradly Cooper-led Maestro, which received a tribute award. Hamilton portrays John Gruen, an American art critic, art historian, author, photographer, and composer.
