Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s family has made The Walking Dead a family affair. During filming for the bonus episodes of season 10, which included the origin story of Morgan’s character Negan in “Here’s Negan,” the family stayed in one of the homes that make up the community of Alexandria, located in Senoia, Georgia. In that episode, his real wife,Hilarie Burton Morgan, starred as his “reel” wife, Lucille. During the eleventh and final season of The Walking Dead, the Morgans’ son Gus Morgan starred. Who did he play?
During the fifth episode of the eleventh and final season of The Walking Dead, “Out of the Ashes,” several of the survivor’s children are featured, which is a rare treat. Judith (Cailey Fleming) has an altercation with some boys who are taunting a child walker through the fence. Gus Morgan portrayed this walker.
Jeffrey Dean Morgan shared the images and video below on social media of his son in full walker makeup. The video showcases the time and effort it took to make him a member of the undead. JDM also shared his proud papa sentiments regarding his son’s first appearance on The Walking Dead.

The young Morgan was able to step behind the camera to film portions of The Walking Dead: Origins. During the “Negan’s Story” segment, Gus Morgan filmed as his father narrated details regarding Negan, a character he has portrayed since the final episode of season 6.
