If you’re like me and you have gone to the movie theater this past week to see Zach Cregger’s Resident Evil, congrats! You have also fallen in love with former Walking Dead star Austin Abrams, and you want to find more things that he has done.
Abrams is the kind of actor whose work has been all over the place. He's done a little bit of everything, and that shows how skilled he is.
From iconic teen shows to scary films to horror comedies, these are some of the best Austin Abrams projects that you should see.
Euphoria (Seasons 1 and 2)
The first one I have to mention is Euphoria. Released on HBO, this series ran for three seasons and told the story of several modern-day high schoolers as they dealt with current-day issues, like drugs, sexual offenders, cam girls, and much more.
Everyone really knows Euphoria for its lead, Zendaya, which is understandable because she is fantastic as Rue. But the cast also features several talented actors with fun, interesting stories. Abrams played Ethan Daley, a recurring character who interacted a lot with the main group but later became more of a side character alongside Lexi (Maude Apatow).
I feel Euphoria is best watched blind because some of what happens in this show is just out of this world. But if you love Abrams playing something wacky, he does that here, while also pairing it with normal scenes. He’s just a great actor, especially in season 2.

Weapons
Also directed by Zach Cregger, Weapons is a horror film that follows a town suddenly dealing with a strange occurrence: how seventeen children from a specific classroom all ran away at the same time in the middle of the night.
The movie was well-received and featured plenty of stellar performances. One of them even won an Academy Award, Amy Madigan, for her portrayal of Gladys. But honestly, Abrams in this is low-key hilarious. He plays James, a homeless drug addict who gets tangled up in the mystery of everything going on, and because of that, he plays a pretty important role, and one of the most interesting ones is the whole film.

Do Revenge
If you want to see Abrams act like an absolute jerk, I would highly suggest Do Revenge. The Netflix original came out a few years ago and follows two girls who team up to exact revenge on the people who bully them. Drea (Camilla Mendes) and Eleanor (Maya Hawke) make a pact to figure out how to get back at the people they despise.
Abrams plays Max, Drea’s ex-boyfriend, who ruins her chances at a good university by leaking an old video of her online. And wow, he is quite literally the worst man imaginable. Like, think of the most toxic man ever, and that is who Abrams plays.
Out of every movie or show on this list, this one will make you want to scream at Abrams the most — which, again, also means he’s a great actor.

Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark
Based on the novel of the same name, Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark follows a group of kids who explore a haunted mansion and find a book of stories, but the book begins writing new stories that target them and try to take them out.
Abrams, once again, plays a pretty big jerk as Tommy, the local bully. But trust me, it is nowhere near as bad as Do Revenge. In this, it just feels like a kid going through something. However, his bullying days don’t last very long in this horror movie. I won’t exactly say what happens, but it gets a little messy.
It’s also fun to watch him in a role that was sort of his first horror movie role after The Walking Dead, and one I think he does well in.

Dash & Lily
Okay, so we’ve had horror and some comedy, but let’s do something that will make you smile. That’s Dash & Lily. Starring Abrams and Midori Francis as the titular Dash and Lily, the series is based on the novel Dash & Lily’s Book of Dares by Rachel Cohn and David Levithan. The series follows two teenagers who develop feelings for each other as they trade notes in notebooks across New York City.
This series is the absolute cutest. I will literally never forgive Netflix for canceling it after one season because it’s genuinely sweet and one of those shows that will always put a smile on your face no matter what. Abrams's portrayal of Dash is kind and lovable, and it's one of the best roles he had before he started leaning a lot more into horror; I think, if given the chance, he’d be a great leading man in a rom-com someday.
