Maggie Rhee, portrayed by Lauren Cohan since season 2 of The Walking Dead, has her hands full in the Dead City spinoff. Not only has she been conscripted into the army of the New Babylon Federation, but she is also raising two teens in an apocalypse. The upcoming sixth episode of season 2 of Dead City, "Bridge Partners Are Hard to Come by These Days," is directed by Cohan, her second of the season, and finds Maggie in a difficult situation.
The official description of the second season of Dead City reads that Maggie and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) find themselves "trapped" on opposite sides of the battle for Manhattan. It was unclear exactly what this meant, but it was quickly laid out in episode 1, "Power Equals Power."
After being betrayed by Maggie in season 1, Negan found himself captive of the Dama (Lisa Emery), a powerful and vicious woman. She blackmailed him by threatening his wife and child, and Maggie's son Hershel (Logan Kim), into joining her fight for control of the island. At the Bricks, Maggie and Hershel's new home, she, along with Ginny (Mahina Napoleon), a young orphan in Maggie's care, were forced into joining the New Babylon army. This group seeks control of Manhattan in order to seize the coveted methane production.
AMC has released a clip for the sixth episode of the eight-part season, revealing that Maggie's fears about her son's obsession with NYC have come true.
The Walking Dead: Dead City season 2
In the first episode of the season, a beacon is lit to alert the Croat (Željko Ivanek) and his Burazi that New Babylon is heading across the river into Manhattan. It was no surprise to learn that Hershel was responsible for the warning. Ever since he was held captive by the Dama he has developed an obsession with the city and a dysfunctional bond with the woman. This was highlighted in a flashback scene showing how the Dama catered to his every need and was highly interested in the boy and his art work.
Even though she chopped off his pinky toe, Hershel remains loyal to the Dama, and the clip above reveals that Maggie's ongoing suspicions about her son are true. The upcoming episode will show that the boy has gone missing, likely in search of the Dama, who he will soon learn has met her demise (episode 5).

The synopsis for episode 206 reads: Maggie considers making an alliance, as the outcome of Negan's actions come to a head. As the clip shows, Maggie and Negan will meet again in this episode and he tries to console her as she worries for her missing son.
