Who remembers Chandler Riggs? You have to if you're a true Walking Dead fan. For eight seasons of the zombie series, we watched Riggs play the iconic role of Carl Grimes, Rick and Lori's son. Viewers watched as Carl grew from a wide-eyed child into a brave and morally conscious young man. But unfortunately, he would meet his end in the mid-season premiere of the eighth season after being bitten by a walker while assisting a stranger.

Since his departure from The Walking Dead, Riggs has taken on new projects here and there, and now we've just learned that he's set to star in a new horror flick. The film is titled The Last Time, and no, there aren't any zombies involved. However, the movie's plot will still grab your attention right away.

According to Deadline, the cameras are currently rolling on The Last Time in Tampa and the Gulf Coast. While it's unclear who wrote the script, Shane Brady is directing. In addition, Persephone Hawkins, Brandon Riley, and Emily Zercher are signed on as producers. Neville Page, who is known for his work on blockbuster films like Avatar, Tron: Legacy, and Cloverfield, is overseeing creature design on the project.

The story revolves around a cursed hourglass that allows someone to travel back to the last moment they saw a loved one alive. A grieving college swimmer becomes obsessed with finding this hourglass in hopes of closure, but his grief attracts a dangerous villain that feeds on pain and threatens to trap him inside the hourglass’s strange, supernatural world.

Besides Riggs, the cast also includes Jake Satow, Casper Van Dien, Dominic Burgess, John D’Aquino, and Addison Bowman. However, character details were not revealed. That said, it's unclear who will be playing whom. Hopefully, Riggs stars in the lead role. It would be nice to see him take on a much bigger part.

Sadly, this is all that's known about The Last Time at the moment. More information will likely come out about the movie as it moves further in the filmmaking process. But in the meantime, you'll have to watch or rewatch some of Riggs' previous work.

Perhaps A Million Little Things, Justice League x RWBY: Super Heroes and Huntsmen Part One, and/or Justice League x RWBY: Super Heroes and Huntsmen would be perfect to revisit. You could always go back and rewatch Riggs' scenes in The Walking Dead as well.

Be sure to stay tuned to Undead Walking for all the latest news on the cast’s new ventures!
