The Walking Dead series has paved the way for many other movies and series within the apocalyptic genre. The iconic series has always had a loyal fan base, which continues to grow even though the main series ended three years ago. This is evident in the prices that props from the series are being auctioned via Heritage Auctions. Speaking of props, Bike EXIF recently created a list of "Motorcycles to Outrun the Undead" and included a popular character's motorcycle.
Bike EXIF is a global showcase for custom motorcycles. Founded in 2008 by Chris Hunter, who, due to the overwhelming success of the site, sold it to Iron and Air Media in 2020. Bike EXIF stands for Exchangeable Image File format, which is data captured by a digital camera.
As they entered the Halloween season, conversations inevitably turned to horror movies and other frightening scenarios, including an undead apocalypse. This led to the creation of a list of motorcycles that would prove invaluable if the worst should happen.
This list wouldn't be complete without the inclusion of Daryl Dixon's (Norman Reedus) bike. The 1992 Honda CB750 Nighthawk was first introduced in episode 514, "Spend," and Daryl is seen riding it to assist Aaron (Ross Marquand) in recruiting for Alexandria.

Bike EXIF highlighted Daryl's bike, stating, "If a machine has been battle-tested for years in the heart of the apocalypse, it earns the top spot," and we agree. The bike was built by John Ryland at Classified Moto, especially for the series. The site featured the bike after its series debut, detailing the elements that make it perfect for an apocalypse.
Fans remember that Daryl first appeared on a motorcycle in season 2. The customized 1971 Triumph Bonneville was previously owned by his brother Merle (Michael Rooker). While it seemed absurd for anyone to use a bike this loud while trying to keep the walkers, who are drawn by sound, away, it seemed fitting for Daryl to ride his brother's bike after believing his brother had died. In Season 4, during the fall of the prison, Daryl had to leave behind the motorcycle, his last tie to his now deceased brother.
In the video above, Reedus discusses his first question for showrunner Scott M. Gimple regarding the upcoming season, which is, Would he be getting another motorcycle. The series incorporated the new bike into Daryl's story. When he befriended Aaron and Erik (Jordan Woods-Robinson), they showed him their garage, which was full of motorcycle parts, which allowed Daryl to customize his new bike.

Daryl's story continues in The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon spinoff, and, surprise, he was able to find a motorcycle in season 3 that is set in Spain.
