In October 2020, AMC premiered the second spinoff of its wildly popular Walking Dead series. Created by TWD Chief Content Officer Scott M. Gimple and TWD veteran writer Matt Negrete, the series was set ten years after the outbreak, and the story began in Nebraska.

The series focuses on a group of first generation teens to come of age in the apocalypse. They had spent the majority of their lives protected by walls of the Campus Colony which kept them save but also left them ignorant the dangers that awaited them beyond the walls.

World Beyond was vital in the world building of the CRM (Civic Republic Military) that would extend into the sixth spinoff The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live.

This series introduced a vast number of new characters to The Walking Dead universe and feature the return of Pollyanna McIntosh as Jadis, who would then move her story to The Ones Who Live.
