Does Daryl Dixon 'I don't want to lose him' comment in Book of Carol trailer seal Isabelle's fate?
By Renee Hansen
The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon - The Book of Carol sees Carol (Melissa McBride) stop at nothing to locate her best friend Daryl (Norman Reedus), who was shipped off to France. The second season of the series is setting up a reunion between the two characters who have known one another since season 1 of The Walking Dead. While Daryl's main objective is to return home to Carol and the other members of his found family, he has formed a special bond with Isabelle (Clémence Poésy) and Laurent (Louis Puech Scigliuzzi).
Tread lightly as this article contains spoilers for the first three episodes of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon - The Book of Carol.
Fans witnessed Daryl's first on-screen kiss in the second episode of season 2 of the Daryl Dixon spinoff. This was met with mixed reviews by fans, as some believe Daryl has already found true love with Carol or Connie (Lauren Ridloff), some felt the affection has been forced, and others were happy to see him find someone new.
Regardless of any feelings about his new love match, one thing has me concerned for Isabelle and Daryl's fates. In the recent trailer for episode 204, "La Paradis Pour Toi," Daryl makes a comment that had me questioning what he said. In the preview promo below, at about the :24 mark, he looks at someone and says, "I don't want to lose him." Now, this remark could very well be directed at Isabelle, but could it be that Daryl loses Isabelle and can't stand to think of losing Laurent?
This got me thinking because the promo trailer shows that Genet (Anne Charrier), her Guerriers, and her undead army will descend on the Nest in this episode. That means there could be many casualties, including favorites like Isabelle. This death would be fresh on the heels of Sylvie's (Laïka Blanc-Francard) from the previous episode, another fan favorite.
It is difficult to guess how Isabelle's death would affect Daryl and Laurent. If she would die before Daryl reunites with Carol, this could prove a very difficult loss for him. If it would happened after Carol finds him, she would help him through the difficult situation. As for Laurent, Isabelle is his aunt and other mother figure he has ever known.
It will be exciting to see where things progress as Carol was last scene in a group that was being fired upon on Genet's orders. Carol, of course, will survive as we know she will be in season 3, but that doesn't mean she will be out of harms way.
The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon - The Book of Carol has three episodes left to air and fans can't wait to see the reunion between Daryl and Carol and see what the driving force is behind their voyage from France to Spain.
