By Renee Hansen
Fans are gearing up for AMC Network's New York City Comic lineup at the 2024 event. Hosted at Javits Center October 17-20, 2024, NYCC is a massive fan event dedicated to Western comics, graphic novels, anime, manga, video games, cosplay, toys, movies, and television. This year, AMC will feature panels from two Walking Dead spinoffs, Dead City and Daryl Dixon.
Dead City and Daryl Dixon are two spinoffs of the long list of series that spawned from the success of AMC's long-running undead apocalyptic series The Walking Dead. The two series featured at NYCC are direct spinoffs of the main series, which continue the stories of characters introduced in The Walking Dead. Dead City features the unlikely pairing of Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and Maggie (Lauren Cohan) in the new setting of Manhattan. Daryl Dixon continues Daryl's (Norman Reedus) story in France and features the return of Carol (Melissa McBride) in its second season.
Friday, October 18, from 6 to 7 p.m. ET, The Walking Dead: Dead City season 2 panel will be held on the main stage.
This year, the Dead City panel will be moderated by professional wrestler and rock musician Chris Jericho. Panelists scheduled to appear include Walking Dead Chief Content Officer and series creator Scott M. Gimple, actress, director, and executive producer Lauren Cohan, Gaius Charles, Zeljko Ivank, and newcomer to the series Dascha Polanco.
The panel will feature and exclusive first look at the second season of the series that is schedule to premiere in 2025.
Friday, October 18, from 7 to 8 p.m. ET, The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon - The Book of Carol panel will be held on the main stage.
The Daryl Dixon panel will take place days ahead the AMC and AMC+ airing of the fourth episode of the six part second season. This panel will be moderated by filmmaker, composer, and visual effects master Robert Rodriguez. Panelist schedule to appear include, Gimple, showrunner David Zabel, director Greg Nicotero, actors and executive producers, Norman Reedus and Melissa McBride and actor Louis Puech Scigliuzzi.
Fans who cannot attend the event can view livestreams of the panels provided by Popverse. If you miss out on the livestream, Popverse will provide both Dead City and Daryl Dixon panels via VOD on Monday, October 21 at 12 p.m. ET. While the Walking Dead panels will be available for free, other fandom panels will require a Popverse membership.
It is sure to be an event that provides Walking Dead fans with some great content regarding the new seasons and episodes of The Walking Dead: Dead City and The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon - The Book of Carol.
