Fear the Walking Dead actress Jenna Elfman joins cast of Tim Allen's Shifting Gears

Fans of Fear the Walking Dead will be excited to learn that Jeanna Elfman, who portrayed June Dorie, has been cast in a new role. She will star alongside Fear TWD co-star Daryl Mitchell (Wendell) in the comedy Shifting Gears.
The multi-cam comedy stars Tim Allen and Kat Dennings and was created by Mike Scully and
Julie Thacker Scully who are known for their work on The Simpsons. Michelle Nader serves as showrunner, and John Pasquin (The Santa Clause) directs the pilot.
Elfman shared her excitement about starring in a comedy series once again via Instagram.
Allen and Dennings are joined by Elfman, who is best known for her role in the 1997 sitcom Darma & Greg. Additional cast includes Mitchell, Seann Williams Scott, Maxwell Simkins, and Barrett Margolis with Brenda Song in a guest starring role.
The series follows Matt, a widow, and owner of Parker Customs, a classic car restoration shop, whose life is upheaved when his estranged daughter (Dennings) and her children move in with him. According to Deadline, Elfman portrays Eve Drake, "a spirited choreographer and owner of the dance studio across from Parker Customs."
Shifting Gears will premiere on ABC beginning Jan. 8 at 8 p.m. ET and will stream the next day on Hulu.

Elfman said goodbye to June Dorie at the conclusion of Fear the Walking Dead in 2023. Next, she will star in season 3 of the AMC original series Dark Winds, which premieres March 9, 2025. She will play a character named BI Special Agent Sylvia Washington.
Based on Tony Hillerman's Leaphorn & Chee novels, the psychological thriller was created by Graham Roland. The series first two seasons earned 100% on Rotten Tomatoes. The series is set in the 1970s and is led by Zhan McClarnon and Kiowa Gordon as the main characters, Navajo law enforcement officers Leaphorn and Chee.
Another recent role of Elfman was in season 2 of ABC's police procedural Will Trent, based on the novels by Karin Slaughter. The season premiered in February 2024, and Elfman guest starred in the fifth episode, "Capt. Duke Wagner's Daughter." She played Edie Reynolds, the new director of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. She was described as "a formidable, take-charge, no-nonsense, decisive, by-the-book leader without being unfeeling." The series streams on Hulu.
Elfman is also well known for other roles in Growing Up Fisher, 1600 Penn, Damages, Accidentally on Purpose, and more. One role fans remember well was an uncredited role as The Angel Stripper in the teen comedy Can't Hardly Wait.
