Last Breath is a dramatization of the 2019 documentary that chronicles the bravery of Duncan Allcock, Dave Yuasa, and Chris Lemons, who faced extreme danger that led to tragedy. Fear the Walking Dead's Cliff Curtis (Travis Manawa) stars in this remarkable true story.

The movie was released in theaters by Focus Features and Entertainment Film Distributors in February 2025 and is now available to stream on Peacock. The film, directed by Alex Parkinson, who co-wrote the screenplay with Mitchell LaFortune and David Brooks, utilizes the documentary directed by Parkinson and Richard da Costa as source material.

Focus Features official synopsis: A heart-pounding film that follows seasoned deep-sea divers as they battle the raging elements to rescue their crewmate trapped hundreds of feet below the ocean’s surface. Based on a true story, LAST BREATH is an electrifying story about teamwork, resilience, and a race against time to do the impossible.

The movie stars Woody Harrelson as Duncan Allcock, Simu Liu as David Yuasa, and Finn Cole as Chris Lemons. Curtis was cast as Captain Andre Jenson and Mark Bonner, MyAnna Buring, Bobby Rainsbury, and Josef Altin also star.

What else does Cliff Curtis star in?

Curits portrayed Travis Manawa, fiance of Kim Dicken's Madison Clark, in seasons 1-3 of Fear the Walking Dead. He made his feature film debut in in the Oscar-winning film The Piano (1993). The actors breakout role occurred in the New Zealand film Once Were Warriors.

He is well known for his role as Tonowari in James Cameron's Avatar series of films. He will reprise this role in the next installment, Avatar: Fire and Ash, which is expected to release in theaters on Dec. 19, 2025. He also portrayed Mac in The Meg and Meg 2: The Trench. Most recently, he portrayed Poseidon in the Netflix original series Kaos, voiced Paul in Prime Video's adult animated series Invincible, and the Australian crime drama Swift Street.

In August 2025, Curtis will star in the AppleTV+ miniseries Chief of War that is created by Thomas Pa'a Sibbett and Jason Momoa, who also stars. The nine-part series, told from an indigenous perspcective, recounts the unification of the Hawaiian Islands. The Hawaiian war chief embarks on a bloody mission to save the islands from colonization.
